TCN - Albatross

This one is extremely personal to me.
So i will not discuss it too much. This is the character beginning his journey towards salvation.
It is a long one.

I'm sure you all know what an albatross stands for.

i had this dream
where i saw an angel fly above me
and when she danced
the envy of all creation
followed her lyric and her grace

until that angel danced with shadow
straining under the weight of envy turned to pity
and the last thing i remember
are the bloodstained feathers
falling gently to my feet

in the waking dream that follows
a lotus opens with the implication
that it spreads itself for me

and so i till its soil
with comatose dreams
hoping that this new life
can rejuvenate old passions
and set cold love ablaze

i want this more than anything
but this lotus blooms without me
choking on the legacy of what you meant to me

my heart grows ever harder and more sorrowful
and i want to blame you for my lack of strength
always hanging around my neck
heavy and stained with blood
a weight and a reminder

that you are always there
when i find another’s touch
and especially when i don't

laughing
wondering
hopefully crying

over this bitterness in the springs of Venus
and the barren sky that surrounds a burning star

i hope you're suffering
over this need to break away from you
despite the will to make it back to you

it’s time this circle ends

i will make my own salvation without your heaven
and i will build it on the foundation of a broken promise
and i will find everything that i hid away
that fateful day when your feathers fell softly to my feet

stained with virgin blood

and then i will evolve into something better than what i am
